KenyaCelebrities.Com: Where did you grow up and how was your childhood?
HustlaJay: I grew up in one of mombasa’s ghettos ; mtongwe –beach la masela…{queens land.}where life is all about Swahili cultures and everyone dreams of being a sailor ….however, my dreams during childhood were never to become a sailor. i believed God gave me a talent and all I wanted to do was to spread meaningfull messages through music. Music has always been a passion of inspiration to me.
KenyaCelebrities.Com: What’s your stage name? Have you changed your name before?
HustlaJay: hustlajay…..I’ve never changed my name, only a times, in the streets they call me swila mchiriza sumu for my inspirations.

HustlaJay: just turned 26 in Dec 22nd .
KenyaCelebrities.Com: When and how did you discover that you have a gift for singing?
HustlaJay: Wow, this was during maulid…we used to make drums, go round rapping to people in the ghetto….Despite us doing it for fun and ensuring we pass messages to people, some of them used to give us a little token of appreciation. We got support and motivation from listeners.
KenyaCelebrities.com: Who else in your family sings?
HustlaJay: My dad was a dj…my sister…my cousin they all find joy in singing, they do it in different places.
KenyaCelebrities.Com: What made you choose to get into music?
HustlaJay:. My spirit to fight for change after watching how system oppresses the common man it really pains to see just how people have to bend their backs to be stepped on …
KenyaCelebrities.Com: What genre of music do you consider your work to be? Who are your major influences?
HustlaJay: Kaya hiphop….major influences are common men/ the oppressed…
KenyaCelebrities.com: What embarrassing songs might I find on your MP3 player?
HustlaJay: none, music is music……I don’t criticize any music, at the end of the day, we are reaching our goals and as for music hath charms to sooth our souls
KenyaCelebrities.com: If you could dabble in another genre of music, what would it be?
HustlaJay: Fuse hiphop and reggae
KenyaCelebrities.com: What genre of music can’t you stand to listen to?
HustlaJay:I listen to all. After all, they’re ideas from human beings so I don’t ignore any…respect to all
KenyaCelebrities.Com: Are you a member of any music organizations? Where do you Record?
HustlaJay:I am a member of Voices of Africa organization ,I record at Ufuoni records in Mombasa and Dungeon records in Nairobi
KenyaCelebrities.Com: Where have you performed? What are your favorite and least favorite venues? Do you have any upcoming shows?
HustlaJay: .I have performed in different places e.g. Wapi words n pictures in Nairobi….Aphia ii music festivals in Kitui and Embu etc. So far ,I have no least favourite venues. More Shows are yet to come.
KenyaCelebrities.Com: Who writes your songs? What are the main themes or topics for most of your songs? Do you think these topics will change over time?
HustlaJay: I write my own songs. Since I get inspiration from society,my main themes dwell on peace, love ,unity and positive change. No, my topics are not meant to change since im passing messages to the society.
Kenya Celebrities.com: who would you like to collabo with in Kenya?
HustlaJay: I would like to work with Mg hiphophead since his music is inspirational not forgetting Dre of fujimafia.
KenyaCelebrities.Com: What are your rehearsals generally like? Do you have a set time each week in which you practice or are rehearsals more spontaneous?
HustlaJay: I rehearse every evening.During weekends I practice at least 4 hours a day.
KenyaCelebrities.Com: What has been your biggest challenge as an artist? Have you been able to overcome that challenge? If so, how?
HustlaJay: Some of the biggest challenges are Piracy, am working hard to overcome it by registering my art work to the Music copyright.
KenyaCelebrities.Com: What’s your ultimate direction for your music career? Are you seeking fame and fortune?
HustlaJay: am here for fortune to the society. To give the society food for the soul for its through teachings we can spread word of change AFRICA should have peace love and unity
KenyaCelebrities.Com: What advice do you have for guys who want to become artist like you ?
HustlaJay :quoting Nelson Mandela …its not that we are inadequate but we are powerful beyond measure and what your body, soul and mind tells you, go for it give your soul to it and success will come your way…

HustlaJay: First, I would start with Mombasa since the industry is bedridden….wipe out all the kingpins wasting artist’s future in the industry….then bring peace and harmony so that one goal of success would be achieved.
KenyaCelebrities.com: Have you ever had any strange or stalker type fans that you are aware of?how does it affect the closeness you have with your fans,media,e.t.c now?
HUSTLA JAY MAU MAU:I have had a few stalker fans but I’d prefer calling them diehard fans.Doesnt affect the closeness since I appreciate the love from all my fans.

HustlaJay I build the nation as a SAP bussiness program operator and exports
